About Chris

What can we say about Chris?
His yoga journey began when he was sixteen, Chris was introduced to Anusara Yoga in 2002.  Having had his world rocked, Chris dove into Anusara’s teachings on non-dual philosophy, radical affirmation and bio-mechanical alignment principles and has never looked back.  Over the last few years, Chris has studied with some of the top Anusara teachers in the country and is a dedicated and loving student of Madhuri Martin, Amy Ippoliti and, of course, John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga.  Chris has been a well loved teacher in the Denver area since starting to teach in 2001.

Self described as a “yoga geek”, Chris brings to the classroom his experiences in Nursing, Massage and Bodywork, a deep love of mysticism, mythology, anatomy, physiology, philosophy, of radical affirmation, of laughter and sweat.  His purpose is to create shifts beginning in the heart and working their way to the skin, breaking open our hard outer shell to reveal the tender, juiciness of life from within.  Chris is a storyteller by nature, and loves to find and uncover hidden layers of meaning behind the ordinary things in life.  For him, yoga is a beautiful process of uncovering meaning and strength, connecting our life to the life-force, and finding the relationship between sweat and radiance.  Endlessly fascinated by the way things weave together, each class is a rich tapestry of light-hearted exploration, devotion, observation and adoration.

Chris has an uncanny ability to make each student feel as if instructions are tailored for them individually, while at the same time bringing the student back to the essence of the practice in a light-hearted way.  Chris has an elegance and eloquence that only comes from many years of practice and teaching and a deep love and respect for his students which shows in his energetic, encouraging and affirming style of teaching.

Together, you will discover the threads of our muscles, the texture of our breath, how to laugh in downward facing dog and how the interlacing of our individuality with the Universal creates the recipe for pure bliss.  His work as a teacher stems from a deep love of life, a passion for individuality and a huge heart full of encouragement.

Currently, Chris is the designer and developer of the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training Program in Denver and is also on the faculty of other local Teacher Training Programs.

When he is not in the studio teaching a class, workshop, retreat or training, he keeps himself busy pursuing his degree in Religious Studies at Regis University, studying Thai Yoga Massage and traditional forms of healing, Sufism and mysticism in all its forms, and (of course) Anusara Yoga.  All the while offering Massage, Private Yoga Instruction, Anusara Yoga Therapy, playing with his two Rat Terrier Puppies, Duke and Ella, and wildly loving his parter, Corey.
